Founded in 2017

HEROIC began as HEROIC TULSA, a convention built around the movies, television, video games, and comics that shape American pop culture. It took the stage once, in 2019, as HEROIC HALLOWEEN, and then went on hiatus. HOWEVER! The story was not finished. Now a program of the Oklahoma Society for Culture Appreciation (OS4CA), HEROIC is returning with a fresh start, a stronger foundation, and the same love for the stories that made it worth building.

HEROIC is an American-focused, though never exclusive, celebration of the characters, worlds, and fandoms people grow up with and never quite leave behind. Fans, creators, artists, and guests come together for our unique programming, our Gadget Outfitters Bazaar, and experiences designed to entertain, inspire, and connect. The weekend opens like no other event on our calendar: with the Heroes & Villains Ball. Held on Friday night as a kickoff rather than a traditional event day, it brings together a formal ball and party fun, and invites every attendee to arrive as their favorite hero, villain, or something fancy in between.

At its heart, HEROIC is about community, the philosophy that there is a place for you, and that you are welcome to be exactly who you are. Guided by OS4CA’s mission of Promoting Education and Community through Entertainment, HEROIC is a return to the fun, imagination, and fellowship that fandom does best.
