Accessibilities

OS4CA Events support equal-access and provide on-site assistance for anyone who has a disability. Please be sure to stop by the Accessibilities Services table at the Information Desk if you need any assistance.

Oklahoma Society for Culture Appreciation (OS4CA) is committed to providing equal access to all participants, including those with disabilities, in accordance with applicable state and federal laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Our aim is to create an inclusive and supportive environment that allows everyone to enjoy our events to the fullest extent possible. This policy outlines the services and accommodations we attempt to offer to ensure equal access and the procedures for requesting assistance.

OS4CA offers the following services and accommodations to help you enjoy your OS4CA Event experience, subject to availability, including:

  • Event schedule in large print and electronic version on the organization's website.

  • Sign Language interpreters upon request.

  • Staff working in all areas of event programming, making them accessible for people with disabilities.

  • Registration options for individuals who cannot maneuver tight turns or long lines.

  • Wristbands indicating seating requirements, known only to staff, based on individual needs.

  • Clear and visible signage to indicate accessible routes and facilities.

We offer wristbands (which only staff knows the meaning of), based on seating requirements:

  • Wheelchair Seating; for our friends in wheelchairs, of course.

  • Chair in Line / End of Row Accommodations; for those with mobility impairments.

  • Proximity / 50 ft. to Screen; for visual/lip-reading access.

  • Sight lines; for access to the interpreter, safe space for working animals, and other unique situations.

  • If you have a chaperone, we offer a badge for them during the event. Please visit the Accessibility table during the event to fill out a digital form once you have arrived.

Look for the Accessibilities Services at the Information Desk.

While we strive to provide accessible seating, it is important to note that:

  • Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Qualification for services does not guarantee availability of seating.

  • Participants should arrive early to secure preferred seating.

  • Accessible seating may not be in the front row or offer head-of-the-line privileges.

We follow the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which specifies the number and arrangement required for accessible seating. If you arrive late, or in some cases even "on time" for an event, you may not get the seat you would prefer, and in some cases you may not be able to get in at all.

**Qualification for services does not guarantee availability of seating.**

People who think they will need assistance at the convention can contact Accessibilities Services in advance.  We are available via the Contact Form.

Events can cover multiple buildings. We strongly suggest that if an individual has difficulty walking long distances that they consider renting an electric scooter.

  • Participants should arrive early to secure preferred seating.

  • Accessible seating may not be in the front row or offer head-of-the-line privileges.
