Tokyo in Tulsa – Supporting it’s Charity

For 2012, Tokyo in Tulsa has chosen to support Youth Services of Tulsa. Since their founding 43 years ago, Youth Services of Tulsa has worked to foster the potential of all youth, supporting and challenging them to embrace their future and achieve independence, ensuring that their voices are heard. They value youth as resources for Tulsa, providing innovative services and activities designed to increase self discovery and instill positive core values and decision-making skills that will keep youth safe and allow them to lead healthy and productive lives. Their programs are based on the needs and input of youth, family and the community and are recognized as national models for quality and creativity.

As a nonprofit community agency, Youth Services is devoted to advocacy for youth.  An expert staff and dedicated volunteers alike offer alternatives to youth that help build self-esteem and skills for independent living.

Youth Services offers the community an opportunity to join our efforts through partnership, collaboration, education, advocacy, volunteerism and fundraising.

Youth Services will be present at Tokyo In Tulsa this July greeting our convention goers, answering questions and presenting panels. 100% of the donations we receive for 2012 will go directly to Youth Services of Tulsa. If you have any questions about our chosen charity for 2012 or our donation process, please email Chanel Jones, Assistant Director of Charity.

Our 2013 Theme…

The theme of next year’s convention will be decided through donations to our charity, Youth Services of Tulsa, via money buckets we will have around the convention space. This year’s theme is Steampunk vs. Bounty Hunters.  Whichever side receives the most donations “wins” this year, earning the right to move on to next year’s competition!
