Animal Policy

 

Tokyo in Tulsa welcomes service animals! You may visit our Disability Team or any member of the Tokyo in Tulsa staff can have a Disability Team member meet you and provide further guidance and assistance.

 

Please note: Service animals and emotional support animals are working animals. No service animal or emotional support animal will be admitted in costume or cosplay. Animals that appear in costume or cosplay will be considered not to be a service animal or emotional support animal.

 

Tokyo in Tulsa follows federal guidelines that define a service animal as any dog or miniature horse individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack, or performing other duties.

 

Trained service animals are welcome at Tokyo in Tulsa provided that they remain under the control of the guest and are housebroken. To ensure that the service animal remains under the control of the guest, all service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times and must remain with the person for whom they provide service unless harnesses, leashes, or tethers interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents using these devices. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.

 

Dogs or other animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support (commonly known as “emotional support animals”) do not qualify as service animals, but may be permitted at Tokyo in Tulsa provided they meet the same training requirements as service animals, are housebroken, remain under the control of the guest for whom they provide emotional support and remain on a leash or in a harness at all times. Other animals such as cats or pigs are not permitted.

 

Emotional support animals that do not meet these criteria may not be allowed to enter.

 

If the emotional support animal has entered Tokyo in Tulsa but does not remain under the control of a guest, is not leashed, or demonstrates that they are not housebroken, we may ask that they be removed. Guests who have purchased tickets but are not permitted to enter with an emotional support animal that does not meet the above criteria may elect to enter without the animal, may exchange the ticket for different day (single day tickets), or request a full refund of the purchase price of their ticket to the original purchase method (e.g. credit card) or by check mailed within 10 business days in the case of a cash purchase. Guests who are permitted to enter with a service animal but are asked to remove their emotional support animal may elect to re-enter without the animal or may exchange the ticket for different day (single day tickets), but are not entitled to a refund (even if they return on a different day with an ESA and the ESA is denied entry). Please note that Tokyo in Tulsa does not have kennel services available.
